What Are Special Needs?
Special needs patients are those who require accommodations for physical, behavioral, or cognitive conditions that could prove challenging during dental treatments. This includes but isn't limited to:

- Sensory processing disorder
- Cleft lips or palates

Special needs patients may have difficulties sitting for long periods, bad gag reflexes, poor oral hygiene, or communication barriers. Dr. Jerger understands that each patient is unique, and he works closely with parents to create a plan for delivering comfortable, safe, and effective dental care without causing trauma or distress to your child.
This might include recommending less invasive alternative treatment procedures, providing parents with tools for behavior guidance, or even hospital sedation for more complicated cases so your child can complete dental treatment while comfortably "sleeping."
