Choosing any member of your family’s health care team is a big deal, and we recognize that. We want you to know that at Jerger Pediatric Dentistry, we take your child’s dental health seriously, and we have the extra training, skill, and experience to make each visit great and to treat any problems that happen to develop.
Dentists get a bad rap in the media – even in media designed for kids. We are often portrayed as mean and dentistry is shown as being painful. Unfortunately, this stereotype leads to kids developing a fear of the dentist, and that fear often stays with them into adulthood.
It’s time for a change, and we want to be a part of that change. We make seeing the dentist fun! From friendly staff who might start a Nerf war at any moment to kid-sized chairs and equipment to a bright, inviting office filled with the stuff kids love, we’ll help your child develop a positive association with dental care. We’ve had parents tell us that their children cheer when they hear it’s time to come to our office!
Preventive Care for a Lifetime of Healthy Smiles
One of the most important services we offer in our office is routine preventive care. Cleanings and check-ups are a great habit to develop for good oral health that lasts a lifetime. Regular cleanings are like a fresh start every six months, and check-ups give us a chance to check in with you and your child and make sure everything looks the way it should.
If a problem does happen to develop, routine check-ups allow us to catch it early for simpler treatment. Plus, every cavity-free check-up gets your child up on our Smiles of the Month wall!
Emergency and Restorative Care When You Need It
As much as we’d like to, we can’t prevent every problem from occurring. Teeth can get cavities, and accidents can happen. In this situation, you want care right away and you want to know that your child will be well taken care of.
We are often asked why it’s important to restore baby teeth since they are just going to fall out anyway. In fact, baby teeth have an important job to do; they guide the permanent teeth into their proper places. Losing baby teeth too early increases the likelihood that your child will need orthodontic care in the future. Treating these teeth when they are damaged allows them to stay in place until they are ready to fall out on their own.
Dr. Bret has received four years of additional training in the field of orthodontics. In addition to traditional braces, our practice also offers Invisalign Teen as well as a number of different appliance options that can prepare your child’s mouth for orthodontic treatment or even help you avoid it altogether!
